Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell (born on 25th August 1949) is an American television chef and host. Burrell was also an instructor for the Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts her own Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and is co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, with her famous spiky blonde hair and pumped-up persona on the Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Cook series, reveals an easy and straightforward techniques for home cooks. Chef Burrell was employed at New York at top restaurants as well as studied Italian cuisine tradition and its environment. She also competed as Iron Chef America on Food Network. As a child in Upstate New York Chef Burrell was inspired by food. Her passion was for working in the restaurant business by enrolment at The Culinary Institute of America following her graduation in English and Communications from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. She says "I loved being a Culinary Institute of America student. I was awed by every moment." I was never able to learn or do enough. Following graduation, Chef Burrell was able to spend a full year in Italy taking classes at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and working in La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 a one-Michelin star restaurant in Tuscany. Burrell gained a greater knowledge of Italian culture and cuisine throughout her time in Italy that has informed the way she cooks. Burrell was a Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board members, which strives to enhance the lives of kids who are facing difficulties. Burrell also serves as a Juvenile Disease Research Foundation (JDRF) celebrity spokesperson and promotes awareness about the dangers of childhood diabetes. She speaks about her cooking passion and shares her expertise in the culinary world when she goes on trips across the USA in both her roles as mentors and speakers. Anne said she felt lucky in that she could be able to share her passion for cooking with the people around her.
